Installation

Add ft8 in the “User defined digital modes” under Preferences->Modes

Updating database

From the QSO list window, one can open an SQL console for direct action on the database

Debug mode

To debug a problem open a terminal window and run program from there

  • cqrlog debug=1

To save the output to a file

  • cqrlog debug=1 > /tmp/debug.txt

The text file will be erase when the program is closed

WSJT-X

Pre-install items listed on website for Linux installations

Install the distribution version – probably out-of-date

Download and install latest version

Rig Hookup

Add username to dial out group and reboot

Get programs talking

In CQRLOG, to the the fldigi/wsjt interface and add path to wsjtx, “/usr/bin/wsjtx”

Checkmark Run wsjtx after entering Remote mode

Time

Ensure Automatic Date and Time is set to On

Radio

Reduce the polling time from CQRLOG to the radio. The logging program does not need 500 millisecond refresh rates, 5 seconds appears to be OK.
